(WHAT cords? I don't see any cords...)
I'm so very excited to finally have something up on the wall in my guest room/office. I put it off for a long time because I wasn't sure what to do or where to start. I finally decided I had spent too much time worrying about the 'perfect' thing for that wall (um, hello! No such thing as perfect in my little world) so I dove right in to sort it out.
I'll be the first to admit that it's not perfect, but I'm happy with it. It all started when my sweet mother gave me this framed picture as a Christmas gift. (look ma, it's September and it's finally up!) I loved everything about it, but it's on the small side so I wanted to group it with a few more things.
I gathered up this hodge podge of mismatched frames and worked some spray paint magic on them... (so bummed I forgot to take a photo BEFORE I painted the hot pink frames -- they were smokin' hot!)
I gathered up a little of this, a little of that... everything was really easy to put together. I made the starfish 'art' with some leftover burlap and my trust hot glue gun. I printed the bible verse, and the floral print was a piece of 79-cent scrapbook paper (pretty much the first and only time I'll buy scrapbook paper without breaking out in cold sweats and having a panic attack). I already had the key, and the two silhouettes are from photos of my boys. I was worried it would be tricky to "turn" the photos into silhouettes using Photoshop but it was really simple.
What do you think? Hopefully I've learned my lesson about putting things off. As The Nester says, "it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful." (maybe I need to write that on my bathroom mirror in lipstick??
I'm linking this to Under The Table And Dreaming's Sunday Showcase Party... go check it out!
