A Year in Projects: 2011

I hope you all had an amazing holiday weekend and are now slowly recovering - we have all been laying pretty low, relaxing, eating too many cookies, playing a little Wii (except me 'cause I suck) and reading books. My kids have been in their jammies 90% of the last three days, I kid you not. Mother of the year, right here!

I have a few posts that I need to cram in this last week of 2011 (!!!) though... so I might as well start now, since the hubster is watching his favorite type of movie (any movie with the buzzwords 'gritty' 'espionage' or 'thriller') and I am pretending to watch. Except not really, because I am a bad wife. There, I said it. Ha! Espionage, shmespionage; that's what I say.

Anyhoosies, 2011 has been quite a year, and although I didn't get everything I had hoped for accomplished, (surprised, anyone?) I still managed to knock out a few projects. And now, for your viewing pleasure (and my list making obsession), I present my top 10 projects of 2011... (drum roll please)

I can't wait for 2012 - hopefully I'll get to knock some crap down and cut some stuff in half. And hopefully, you'll be along for the ride!

I am feeling batted in the face. I have bruises, I'm sure. But I'll follow you ANYWHERE.

LOVE the Thanksgiving table decor. And pretty much love every project you've completed this year. As we've just moved into our 1st home together (it's a 70's rambler in need of serious updating) I'm looking forward to checking out all of your diy projects and trying out many of your ideas.

you made some huge strides this year Anna! I remember reading about your staircase project and am still amazed at the brilliant results. And your aqua lamps inspired me to attempt something similar with an old castoff lamp. Thank you so much for the wonderful content you produce on your blog and warm wishes for the coming year! -diane

I've been hooked on your blog since I first found it! How are the painted stairs doing, wear-wise?

Oooh girl, ya been busy! So many great things happening around your house! I think I have to say that my fav is still the stair runner though : ) And that Thanksgiving table of course- so fab!

Your photo list of project accomplishments humbles me, and inspires me for 2012! I love your kitchen! And that customized closet is this OCD girl's fantasy. But your sofa table is going on my list for the coming year! Only mine will reside in our entryway, where I think it will be the perfect functional piece!

Also on my list, or I should say on The Handsome Husband's honey-do list, is building our boys bunk beds for their twinXL beds. With a 6'3" hub & and rapidly growing boys (4.5 & 6.5) I'm not gonna ditch them (and the multiple sets of sheets & blankets) Got any suggestions?

Okay. I love each and every one of your 2011 projects so I'm compelled to follow. Don't feel pressure to file suit. Only follow if you like what you see ...

.. or, more so, like what I write ...

Happy New Year!

Linda

Hi! I came over from Thrifty Decor Chick because I love your painted stairs. I have stairs that we ripped carpet and then tile off of and still need to be painted. Just waiting for the hubs to do some repairs first...sigh. Anyways, when I got here I recognized your beautiful header and realized I've been here a few times in the past for your school house light and diy mercury glass!! I think it's time to become a member :) If you have a moment come visit me at AllThatBringsJoy.blogspot.com :)
