I'm So Excited, I'm So Excited!

"I'm soo..sooo..scared!"

Best Saved by the Bell scene. Ever. If you disagree, you just might be dead to me.

Unfortunately we don't live in a land where Saved by the Bell or its fabulous girl group "Hot Sundae" exists. Sigh. Back to reality...

We did it.

We bought a new washing machine and dryer!

One on hand, I feel a bit ridiculous because my life has been reduced to large appliance-induced adrenaline rushes. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure this wasn't my initiation into the club of boring adult purchase giddiness, so I should just make peace with this.

I'm a completely lame responsible adult who absolutely lives for understands the importance of purchasing shiney new appliances the necessary objects for the washing of my official reproduction Kelly Kapowsky costumes care of my family.

I can't wait until my laundry room looks like this:

...even though I just remembered that my laundry room is in a windowless room in my outdated basement.

So it might look a little bit more like this:

Ahem. I guess I'm going to have to do something about that.

I also get giddy over large appliance purchases. I think It is like getting a new car. It is shiny and new and does all kinds of things that will make my life easier. What's not to get giddy about? Great post. Oh, and I love love love the laundry room in the picture. I want one of those too!

Well the grass is always greener because I am jealous of your windowless outdated basement! I currently have to walk out the backdoor of my house, across the patio, and into the garage (the patio cover also ends 2 feet before the garage door, so if it's raining... enjoy that. Just to get to my washer and dryer. So I'm jealous that its all inside your house! ha!

Exciting! That laundry room pic looks like a similar color to what I'm thinking of painting my living room, except I think I want something slightly more grayish so it's not too overpoweringly bright. Are you thinking of going those colors in your laundry room too?

I get excited about appliances! Especially if they make cleaning and chores easier! I asked my hubby for a Dyson vacuum cleaner on my 30th birthday. That was 5 years ago :). I got my dream washer and dryer and do laundry everyday...I don't like to fold it- but I like using my timer and off it goes. I have my laundry in the basement-not too light :)

Um, I think it should be a rule that you have to include a 90s pop culture reference ever blog post!

So I have to say I just stumbled upon your blog and it has made my "kinda crappy, I'm a stay at home mom and laundry/snacks/whiney kids are my life kind of day" much much better! (I do love my job most days, just not today!) You have an awesome blog with great ideas, but what I've loved most on a day like today is your witty humor especially the " I'm so excited/I'm so scared SBTB moment! We are clearly of the same era! It makes me reminisce about hammer pants and big bangs! Thanks for brightening my day!

Thanks!! And Jenn, I'm right there with you... we all have days like that, right? Being a SAHM is crazy hard, it's a good thing they're cute :) So happy that I could help with your not-so-hot day! (I remember getting some sweet purple hammer pants for Christmas one year... ohhhhh yeah.)
