Those two lamps needed to switch places, and they needed to do it fast.
My front room needed some more color, and the glossy white lamp wasn't doing it any favors. My solution? Throw in the lovely aqua lamp (my precious) to add some pizazz to the sad little space.
I was also craving some dark accessories in the guest room to ground the space and balance all the light tones throughout the room. The area around the headboard was feeling a bit washed out to me... a problem that was easily solved with the white lamp and a bottle of spray paint.
I went with Rusteoleum's Universal Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint to bring in some warmth and a nice dark color to the guest room.
The results?
Looooove it!
A couple hours and an easy little switcheroo can make a giant difference!
That totally made a huge difference in the guest room. Love it!! Just a thought, but you could really pull off a super skinny black ribbon or even dots around the upper and bottom seams of the lampshade too. I love that it pull the dark lines out of the throw pillows. Great little transformation.
Love it! OMG I am newly obsessed with your blog! Following you so I can stop by and say hello more often! Feel free to follow back if you like my crazy blog. hehe
You have inspired me down a different path that is getting me in trouble with my husband! Oooh honey, look at this, look at that, ooh look how she does this! I am going to do that! Went to the thrift store a few times and Michaels...yay.
